503 error when trying to login via wp-admin

  • When I try to login to my blog via wp-admin I get a 503 Service Unavailable error.

    I didn’t notice any issues with this until yesterday.

    Deactivating iThemes Security fixes the issue, but obviously I don’t want to do that permanently.

    I can still login via wp-login.php

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello,
    Have you checked this with the wordpress default theme?
    may be conflict occurred due to theme or plugin activation?

    There had been no updates to my WordPress installation when the issue started so don’t think it’s the theme or other plugins.

    The problem is now intermittent. My host claims the site is exceeding CPU resources, which could be the case, although it’s strange that deactivating iThemes fixes it. Might have to uninstall it if the issue persists.
