503 Service Temporarily Unavailable Only on Mac

    Hi all,
    I’ve read a few posts about this problem but couldn’t figure out how to solve it. My WP site is running fine DvEyebut my admin page is only showing the 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error.

    This is Only happening on my Macbook. I can log in to admin on my PC at work and I also contacted my server Arvixe who checked and said it was fine there side.

    So I have cleared all cache and cookies etc in Chrome browser but still getting the same message. Its seems only to be happening on my home computer which is where I do all my work.

    What can I do to sort this out?
    Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Have you tried using another browser / internet connection at your home computer where this does not work?

    Also do you have a problem with the frontend also or only the admin area?
    Are you able to access wp-content files ?

    There is no problem with the front end, I can access the front end and I can get to the content files through FTP.

    I get the same problem:

    I tried WordPress Chrome BugFix but no luck with that.
    The only thing I haven’t tried yet is disabling plugins.

    Due to so many problems with my last site, I decided to deleted it. This is a new install and straight away I have problems. Why are their so many bugs with WP?

    This is most certainly NOT a wordpress issue. As I am able to access those urls without issues.

    Yes that is what Arvixe said also and when I tried on my PC at work it was also fine.

    So any idea what I can try?

    Surely your not offended Rajesh, personally I have had a lot of problems with WordPress but I persevere because it is with out a doubt the best platform.

    I cleared Mac cache, changed DNS and still the same error.

    Guess I’m going to have to start disabling chrome extensions then wp extensions.

    I am at a loss to know what to do.

    Why is this only happening on a Mac?

    So for anyone having this problem here is the solution. Run a traceroute for the problem site (from your network utility) and submit your details to, in this case Arvixe.
    The very next day the problem was solved.

    Tara, if you read my question, it was not about drawing attention, it was a simple question regarding how he did fix it, and see if I can apply the same solution, there are hundreds maybe thousands of topics without any resolution, closed without any help, IF, I can read about the same issue and how it was fixed a public forum is helpful, if the moderatos are going to close every topic with private answers then there is no point to have a public forum.
    Please don’t paste a canned answer, we all want to help and receive help.
