503 Service Unavailable error when Woocommerce is activated

I’m having this same exact issue. I’m using WordPress version 5.0.2 and WooCommerce version 3.5.3.

Every time I activate WooCommerce I get the same error:

“The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

When I deactivate WooCommerce, the site is back up.

Is this a known issue, and is there a solution?

Same issue here. They don’t seem to be super responsive on here though…

Have either @ahennes1 or @erikawithakdc followed @rynald0s instructions?

Please also make sure you have tried reverting to a default theme, disable all plugins except for WC and try again.

@serafinnyc Yes. The only plugin that seems to be causing the issue is Woocommerce. Site works fine so long as that plugin is disabled.

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. You can remove your site url if you’d like.

Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here but it will get flagged for moderation. You can save it as a text file so I can review and post to your site. Somehow so I can review.

@serafinnyc I can’t. If I turn on Woocommerce on I can’t access my site.

You’ll need to revert back to a default theme then and disable all plugins except WC. Do you also have FTP access?

So what I did was move it from my local to a staging environment. Woocommerce no longer gives me a 503 but is now giving me:

“Sorry, it seems that there are no available payment methods for your state. Please contact us if you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements.”

This is incredibly frustrating for a plugin that claims to be the “best” shopping cart plugin for WP. I keep running into dead end, after dead end.
