Lastnight I downloaded the plugin to my site and every time I tried to activate it or delete it I kept getting a 504 timeout error. My developer changed the timeout time so that it was able to do what it needed to do.

The plugin is now activated and I can play around with the settings though I have not yet used it anywhere yet. I tried to update rankmath, my SEO plugin and now I’m getting a 504 error every time and it completely locks me out of my site for 20-25 minutes each time. We’re pretty sure it has something to do with your plugin, but hoping that you might have a fix?

The one thing I can think of is that there is an issue with the fulltext indices being created.

Please can you create these manually. You’ll find the necessary code under the Tools page.

the PHP was timing out and when we extend it 90 seconds it will activate, but the entire site slows to a crawl. When I lower the time back to 30 seconds — I start getting lots of 504 errors when doing normal admin tasks.

Does this go away with the plugin deactivated?

I am not sure why it would be causing this issue. The plugin doesn’t have such an intensive need for PHP in all my tests. The activation is an issue if you have a huge number of posts (definitely not on a new install). And that can be circumvented by installing the fulltext indices manually as per the above response.

I’ve got my sites on a very basic DO server (cheapest plan) and don’t have an issue and I know users on shared hosts have also run this.

Yes, once it has been deactivated it goes away. However while its active I cannot upgrade or add any new plugins. I also cannot deactivate the plugin without again changing the timeout.

Have you checked and created the fulltext database as per above before activating?

Unfortunately, if you have done that as well, am not sure what to do but recommend using another plugin ??

Unfortunately my developer is fairly busy now so I just had him deactivate it and we’ll have a look at it later.

Thanks – that’s understood. It’s pretty confusing to me as it is a specific one.
