504 error appears in creating new database backup

    Hi, I have installed “WP Database Backup” plugin. It is updated as well. Currently WordPress version is 5.2.4. There is an issue appearing of 504 gateway timeout. This issues appears when i create a new backup. Page loads after that 504 error appears. when i go back to db backup dashboard, then all previous backups are deleted as well. Please tell me why it is happening. I have made a lot of backups. currently there is no backup. I have done this many times to make a backup but 504 error appears every time.

  • Hi,

    if the site is very large, it takes time to create the database backup. And if the server execution time is set to low value, you get go to blank page.
    There may be chance your server max execution time is 30 second. Please check debug log file.
    You will need to ask your hosting services to increase the execution time and the plugin will work fine for large data.
    You can also try to increase execution time. Please make below changes – Add below line

    php.ini

    max_execution_time = 180 ;
