I was using the plugin and worked just fine, but next morning I’m receiving Error 504 Bad Gateway on Event Pages Only. I asked the hosting support to check but they directed me towards you. I am not familiar with the plugin itself, I’m only working on a project for a client. Currently the site is on a static IP but that shouldn’t be a problem because the last client had a website made and everything was working fine.

Hi team SportsPress! Maybe you guys want to check out some compatibility with WP version 6.0.1

I reference my theory to: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/504-error-on-certain-pages/

    Which is a similar case.

I checked my logs and the issue came up after the update. Deleting all events and creating new events sorted it out. Unfortunately I can’t see more because my access is limited by the owner. But if there is anything I can provide to help please do let me know. Thanks!

    Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry for the trouble.

That’s odd. I’m running WP 6.0.1 here and it works just fine.

Just to confirm, do you still see the error in any events at all?

If yes, what do the error logs say? Do they give any specific PHP error, or is it just the 504 error?

In general, this error means that your server isn’t responding. If recreating the events fixed the error, maybe it’s an issue with plugin conflicts, some metadata, or even the URLs.

    Thanks!

    Hi Roch,

    Not at all.

Yes, it is working fine with WP 6.0.1 but the error was sudden and short-lived. I’m still trying to replicate it but I can’t.

It’s only 504 Bad Gateway. Flushed DNS, reset everything from server-side or so according to the Hosting Provider. Even changed theme, uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. This is why its such a confusing error.

Yes, 504 is supposed to be server side but it wasn’t. Also it can’t be a plugin conflict because the site is running Rookie theme free version, with twenty-twenty two as fall back theme and as for plugins only sportspress.

Permalinks were reset too and they were always kept to post-names so no possibility of a URL error. I highlighted this event because I couldn’t find any article/help on it online, and thought if it pops out for anyone else it can be handled quickly.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for your reply.

    Oh, that’s even weirder then!

If this error ever happens again, feel free to get in touch with presales. I’d love to investigate this further if we get a chance to see it in the wild (and hopefully prevent it for other users).

I’ll poke around with my own installs and see if I can replicate this as well.

    Thanks!

Will contact support asap if it recurs. Once again, thank you for the prompt support and a game-changing plugin. Have a good one ahead.
