504 Gateway Timeout on update of plugin

  • I’ve tried to update this plugin twice now and each time I receive and error and then my site goes down for about 10 minutes. Here is the error message:

    Update Failed: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN”> 504 Gateway Timeout Gateway Timeout The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.

    Is this happening to anyone else? Any suggestions?

    Sorry to hear about your issue upgrading.

    The Gravity PDF plugin files are quite large due to the font files we have to ship (26MB zipped / 58MB unzipped). This can cause issue on some web hosts when using the automated upgrade method. I’d have a chat with your web host first and see if they can assist. Otherwise, you may need to use the FTP installation method instead.
