• Hi all

I have (over the last 3 weeks) found all my sites that I have on a resellers package hit the 508 resource limit. There is no one common issue, such as a plugin that all sites use. I am at a loss!

The host suggests that I put the sites on a dedicated hosting but for all my sites this would cost a fortune. They are not heavy traffic sites (around 100 visits a week) and not massive number of pages (10).

One site that is happening to is not even live but is me refreshing, as I add content and change css!!

Is this an issue with the updated WP? I always keep WP and the plugins up to date.

Anyone else suddenly come across this problem. It has been in the last 2 weeks for me and happens all the time on multiple sites.

    Thanks
    Chris

If you do not find any other solution, I know there are hosts who let you have as many add-on domains as you want without charging you any more than you would pay for one:

This smells like a scam. Move to another host, a website with 100 hits per week shouldn’t hit ANY resource limits, no matter if it’s on a shared host.

    Hi it gets better.

I have been told that I have hit resource limits by refreshing a page as I am working on the css. They have said there was only two visitors to the site and my ip address accounted for 99% of the traffic.

I can’t see how a website would be usable if one person going round it would reach the resource limit!!

I have something similar going on at the moment. I typically have at least a half-dozen tabs open in two browsers at my sites while working on them, and last night I discovered my host is specifically watching my IP and occasionally doing some throttling even though my bandwidth only goes high when a site is getting hammered by a bot or whatever. So, I will be talking with my host about leaving my IP alone and only throttling when truly necessary.
