    anyone? ??

I just recently switched from Gallery (where I had a ton of features that were totally useless to me) to Plogger, which is very simple and very much what I was looking for in the first place. I’m redesigning my site right now and haven’t moved all of my photos, but keeping that in mind you can take a look. ??

I’ve tried a bunch of WP plugins and scripts. I seem to have 4 favorites now: Plogger, DAlbum, Lazyest-Gallery and SimpleViewer.

Of these, only Lazyest-Gallery totally integrates into WP. Plogger can be made to look like your theme by editing it’s index php file. Plogger is good because it’s admin is easy and you can comment on images. DAlbum was my first script and works great as a standalone. It has much if not all of the Plogger features. Lazyest-Gallery is ever growing and has a lot of capabilities. SimpleViewer is good for displaying a gallery via Flash. It has a Picasa2 template for easy gallery preparation.

Feel free to check out my site for my Photo viewing experiments.

I think i really like the lazy gallery as ive used it before and i love how simple it is, but I like the idea of the comments that the plogger has…

I’m with Kaknu on this one. I tried Gallery and it was horrendously bloated. Gallery was like trying to crack a nut with a nuclear bomb.

I then tried Lazy Gallery, which was quite nice, but if I remember correctly it didn’t have database capabilities, so no comments. And I don’t think you could put captions in it either.

Plogger’s definitely my favourite and you can customise it quite a lot. My only gripe is that I can only get it to work with my default WordPress theme and none of my other themes, but seemingly the latest version of Plogger (due out in the next couple of months) will sort this out.

You can drop thumbnails into WordPress posts so when the reader clicks on the thumbnail to enlarge it, it goes directly to the Plogger photo page, which is integrated into your main theme. So, in effect, you never have to leave your “branding”, as it were.

Plogger is really, really easy to set up, use, and customise, and the guys in the support forums are dead helpful too. I think it’s brilliant!
