    Hey all,

Having trouble with the last couple versions of WP Travel Engine… Time to First Byte is about 6sec for this Client’s site…assuming it loads at all. The site isn’t particularly large but have had to allocated a significant amount of PHP Memory to avoid it erroring with ‘wordpress has encountered a critical error’.

In troubleshooting, with the theme and all other plugins disabled, the TTFB is still about 5sec. With the Theme and all Plugins enabled EXCEPT WP Travel Engine, the TTFB is just 1sec.

    WP 5.4
Theme – Travel Tour Pro 2.0.2 (Bootstrap Themes)
    WP Travel Engine 3.1.3
Other Plugins: Wordfence, Contact Form 7 and a few other minor function plugins.

    Any advice?

  • Yes, I have advice: do not use wp travel engine!

The plugin is causing so many problems, I have shown a lot of admiration to this plugin and what it has to offer, but all goes in vain if it produces fatal errors and it does!! I stopped using it and send the product support an email about my experience with the plugin, they kept my email without a reply until they released the latest major update and fixed my problem (two fatal errorsREST API & Loopback request), but then almost at the same day, they came up with another minor update that broke the whole thing! now the sticky menu stopped working, the site takes ages to load, and the travel companion is mixed up.
I think we will have to wait for another update to fix it all again.

    Hi @jononoy,

Thank you for pointing out the issue to us.

There are a lot of factors that affect the TTBF and sure there will be fluctuations while the plugins are disabled or enabled.

We have taken note of this and we will look at possible ways to better the performance, reduce queries and optimize the resources in our plugin in upcoming updates.

Meanwhile, these are some of the ways to reduce TTBF – https://wp-rocket.me/blog/how-to-reduce-ttfb-wordpress-site/

@hamadaboss, we are sorry about the blunder. The issue has been fixed in the latest update.

    Thanks!
