On our 2 new websites, to easy import & update events, we use WP All Import, as on the 2 websites we have the same events visible. This is also the reason we use the free TheEventsCalendar plugin.

To test if WP All Import is still supported after the major 6.0.0 update, we did the following.

    1. After the migration, we made an export of the current 22 trial-events (that were added earlier via WP All Import).

    2. After comparison with the original import-excel, it looks like the column-names have not changed.

    3. To test, we added a 23rd event to the WP ALL Import import-excel, date 20 September 2022. To make it more distinctive, this time in English and not in German, like the main website.

    4. After import, the event is added to the list of events and has it’s own page:
    https://www.easyhealth4ever.com/termine/club-meeting/

==> 5. Unfortunately, the event is not added to the calendar:
    https://www.easyhealth4ever.com/termine/

I hope you have a reason or solution for this, else TheEventCalendar is not a viable option for our websites any more.

    Thanks, Ivar

(Also After 1 time migrating the existing events, it is not possible to migrate new (imported) events).

    Hey @ivarb

    Thank you for reaching out.
    Yikes! That’s not good.

As you can imagine, this was not done deliberately.

Since the data structure for events changes after migration, it’s likely that WP All import’s previous import job will need some adjustment.

In other words, if you don’t mind, it would be great to test if those issues are still there when you create a brand new import job in WP All Import (in a staging environment, of course).

Please ping me and let me know so that I can escalate this if required.

    Hang in there!

    Hey Geoff,

Quite a relief, it was not done deliberately! ??

As you suggested I made a brand new Import session, unfortunately with the same outcome. The event (page) is created, but not visible at the overview page:

    https://www.easyhealth4ever.com/termine/club-meeting-2/ (20th October)
    https://www.easyhealth4ever.com/termine/2022-10/

    Kind regards, Ivar

Hi @ivarb, thanks for getting back to us. I’m curious if that’s the case it should show up on the Frontend. Are there any errors/warnings? I also suspect it could be caching, could you clear any caching both third-party plugin and server-side, I could see you’re using SiteGround — see the article here if you have that caching tab on the server dashboard. https://www.siteground.com/kb/clear-site-cache/

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz

Hi, for that obvious reason, I wasn’t using cache yet. On Siteground cleared it anyway, as well the browser cache, as well the macbook DNS cache. Same result.

Hello, it is 8 days ago, since my last reply.

Currently WP All Import does not support TheEventsCalendar. It seems, you have no intention to fix this? Or maybe the new “faster?” version 6.0.0.1’s database is not compatible/ fixable with WP All Import?

For me the import-function of TheEventsCalendar itself does not work either, as all values of 1 item are all imported in the first cell. Your support pages about Excel & Import does not give a solution either (but this is not the topic of this thread).

WP All Import has much more options then the import function of The Events Calendar. WP ALL Import does not work with The Events Calendar, so this plugin is not workable for us. Best to start Google for other solutions?: free wordpress event plugin .

Hi @ivarb, apologies for the delayed response as we are experiencing a higher load in support.

This is due to the changes in the format in the migration to 6.0, this would need some modification. I would definitely check with the team regarding this one.

Just curious, were you able to try creating new imports with 6.0?

I’d get back to you as soon as I hear from them.
    Hang in there.

    Hi @ivarb,

I went ahead and investigated the issue, and this looks like a bug in our plugin, WP All Import does not work for The Events Calendar users that have upgraded to version 6.x AND migrated their event data. As a workaround you can downgrade to pre-v6.0 or use version 6.x but don’t migrate the event data for now.

I already created an internal bug ticket for this, and I have added your case to it. Thanks for all the details, I will definitely pass it along to our devs. Added it to our Known Issues archive here as well https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/#dl_wp-all-import.

I am unable to provide an exact date or time estimate for when this bug will be fixed, but you’ll be notified when there are any updates.

Lastly, we encourage you to reach out to the WP All Import team — that should help to make sure it’s on their priority list.

Again, thank you for your patience. Hang in there.

    Cheers,
    Abz
