• Since the update, three of my clients sites has been compromise. With one the media library reappeared on its own. The other one I am still experiencing issues with the media library not showing. I looked for the .htaccess file in the upload. The file did not exist. I have disabled plugins and changed the theme to the default, tried to use media recovery software and upload folder from the most recent backup which keeps failing the process. I reverted back to 6.4.4 and reinstall 6.5.3 and change the PHP file. This is utterly ridiculous and frustrating. The last site in reference, I can not edit any pages without getting the 404 error. The common denominator is the 6.5.3 update. Please advise any insight to remedy these situations. Thanks

  • Hello, @gblackett

Certainly, here’s a concise action plan:

Reset Permalinks: In WordPress settings, save the permalinks again to fix 404 errors.
Check File Permissions: Ensure wp-content/uploads has correct permissions.
Increase PHP Memory Limit: Add define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’); to wp-config.php.
Restore .htaccess: If missing, recreate the .htaccess file with default WordPress rules.
Manual WordPress Update: If issues persist after an update, try updating WordPress manually.

I hope my solution is helpful to you!
