7.2 or 7.1

    This plugin is putting out conflicting info.

    Your plugin says 7.2 is best to be installed. My web host says that mcrypt is deprecated in 7.2, but your plugin is saying that the required module is not installed, when I upgrade to version PHP 7.2.

    I downgrade to 7.1, it says to install 7.2, but I need 7.1 for mcrypt extension.

    This is not a good thing. What exactly am I supposed to install?

    Hiya, PHP 7.2 bundles a crypto library, so you can safely use it instead of the older mcrypt external one. This is also checked for in future versions of this plugin, but not the current one unfortunately.
