  • Hi @frankbiganski,

I didn’t update the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway WordPress plugin dated Nov 09 2023 because of the incompatibility/untested warning with WordPress 6.4.1. Please advise as plugin working fine for me at the moment.

From what I understand, you have concerns about updating the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway WordPress plugin due to the warning of incompatibility/untested with WordPress 6.4.1. You’re seeking advice because the plugin is currently working well for you.

I want to assure you that all plugins developed by WooCommerce, including the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, are thoroughly tested for compatibility with the latest versions of WooCommerce core and WordPress core prior to any release. This rigorous testing process is in place to ensure the smooth operation of our plugins on your sites.

The “Tested up to: 6.3.2” label that you’re currently seeing on the WooCommerce Stripe plugin description page is manually updated by our plugin developers. This process can take some time, and the label may not always reflect the most recent version of WordPress that the plugin has been tested with. However, this is more of a technicality and does not necessarily mean the plugin is incompatible or untested with WordPress 6.4.1.

If the plugin is currently working fine for you, it’s likely that it will continue to do so after the update. However, as a best practice, I would recommend backing up your site before performing any updates to ensure that you can easily revert back if any issues arise.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you very much for your detailed response Tamrat. I’ve been using WP for years and actually wondered about that. I definitely always perform a backup before upgrading too. I use an LMS plugin so I always have to try and time upgrades between new students signing up.

I also appreciate all of the hard work by everyone working behind the scenes. Your talents amaze me.

    Cheers! ??

    Hi @frankbiganski,

It’s great to know that you’re already following the best practice of backing up your site before performing any updates. Timing upgrades between new student sign-ups is indeed a smart move, especially when you’re using an LMS plugin.

I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved. However, if you ever have more questions or issues in the future, don’t hesitate to kick off a new topic.
