• All of my folders on my server are right now set to 705… but everywhere else I look people has them set to 755. Should I set them to 755? When I activated Super Cache, it gave me this warning:

    “Warning! /home/content/##/#####4/html/wp-content is writeable!

You should change the permissions on /home/content/##/#######/html/wp-content and make it more restrictive. Use your ftp client, or the following command to fix things:chmod 755 /home/content/##/#######/html/wp-content/”

But, I thought 705 was more restrictive than 755. Should I just set this foler to 755? Set all of my folders to 755?

  • Hi,

You need to either assign 755 or 766 recursive permissions to wp-contents folder would be the best option.

    Thanks,

How can i change the permissions of all folders, but not change the permissions of the files? Besides manually changing each individual file…
