• My WordPress site (https://www.pepperguy.com/newblog/) stalls partway through the page load (displays the archives list through March 2005 then stalls for a good 30+ seconds). The page eventually loads completely, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why it’s hanging up. I have some images on the site that are remote, but they all load up first and fast. I’ve talked to my hosting company and they say everything on the server is nominal. I have Gallery 1.5 running and it’s fast as can be, so it’s not a server-side php/MySQL issue…

I’m at a loss. Anyone have thoughts, ideas? What’s the best way to troubleshoot an odd issue such as this?

WordPress version 2.0.1… oh… and the admin side of things works fast and fine. *shrug*

  • This is the same problem that I am experiencing, if anyone could figure out this problem I would be eternally grateful.

My suspicion is that it’s a plugin or SOMETHING trying to access an outside resource that’s unavailable. It eventually times-out and then the rest of the page renders.

What plugins or modifications have you made to WP, Gamesector?

Well, after some more troubleshooting, I deactivated and re-activated my plugins one-by-one and it turns out it’s WP-ShortStat causing the slow-down.

Gamesector, if you’ve got that activated, try turning it off and see what happens!
