  • WordPress WP Cerber Security plugin <= 9.0 – User Enumeration Bypass vulnerability

    WP Cerber Security 9.0 has a vulnerability. Why are new versions no longer automatically being made available to update via wordpress??

    I look after 56 sites I really don’t have the time to manually check for updates, then manually download and install them on each site.

    please resolve your dispute with www.ads-software.com and get your plugin approved by them again.

  • If you do install (manually) the latest update from their website you can adjust the settings to receive future automatic updates from https://wpcerber.com/
    https://wpcerber.com/automatic-updates-for-wp-cerber/

    By the tone the developer has taken toward people here on this support area I doubt there is going to be a quick resolve with www.ads-software.com, which certainly reduces confidence.

    I think the developer has understandably gotten tired of some of the rude comments I’ve read on other threads. Some comments from users have been quite malicious and are far from constructive. Gregory has explained that steps are being made to get back onto WordPress. Personally I trust the software and will be sticking with it. Once you configure one site as a dashboard and have all your sites updated to the latest version, updates are working like a dream. Look on the Cerber website for config tips.

    I don’t know anything about rude comments, but i agree that plugins which are rubber stamped by WordPress help to give enduser confidence in the product. It’s therefore a reasonable request to as for this to be put back via the wordpress website. I do accept however that once you’ve upgraded to version 9 the updates work fine from the developer portal, but it’s not the ideal solution.
