• Aanii and Good Morning

I am working with WP 2.0.5 I have been uploading plugins and widgets and they all work fine.

However without warning the plugins and widgets that I was uploading onto my server stopped showing up on the plugs activation page.

    Can you help me please?

I know you are all volunteers and I really do appreciate your time and help.

I searched the support forums and could not find anything listed for this issue.

Thank you for any and all help

    Blessings

  • I wish I could offer help, But I am experiencing the same thing.

Download a widget. FTP to my server. It shows up in the remote window ok. Doesn’t show up in plug-ins so can’t activate them, and of course, doesn’t show up in new widgets section either.

I’ve remotely deleted some widgets I’m not using, and they STILL show up in the plug-in section however.

This is occurring on two or three blogs I have set up, not just on one.

I’m having this problem as well. I’ve got another WP installation on the same server using a separate database however and plugins work for that installation. Anyone have any ideas?

I’m experiencing the same problem. Does anyone have a fix for this yet?

I’m having this problem now. It’s like some work and others don’t. Using WP 2.1.1

experiencing this problem too. WHERE IS THE ANSWER???

/wp-admin/themes.php?page=widgets.php. I use WP 2.2 and the plugin page has the files I need, but the widget page under presentation is blank.. so my existing widgets I can not modify because I see the plugin but not a specific widget.

I had this problem and solved it by fixing permissions and ownership for the files I’d added. (I think it was ownership which was the problem.)

    thx for the reply Kerim.
(i found this thread after having similar problems out of the blue.)

sadly though, my permissions look fine and i was wondering whether this is something you did from the dashboard..? editor ..?

    any other suggestions?

    thx again in advance…

    missing plugin solution…?

after troubleshooting this problem with other functioning blogs that i have, i discovered that on the surface, the list of unresponsive plugins in mydomain/wp-content/plugins was a result of missing php files.

my plugin list consists of some folders and some files. i discovered that of the plugins that resided in the folder, they were missing the [plugin-name].php file that contained critical plugin header information.

i ended up having to re-install many of my plugins, overwrite what was already there (I didn’t delete the corrupted ones first and it seemed ok to do it that way). once i did that, i was able to view them ALL from my dashboard and could finally activate them.

hope this helps. i know how frustrating it can be!!

Just another voice in the crowd. I already asked this exact ?? once and received a cryptic reply from Matt stating that WP doesn’t read plugins uploaded via FTP-However, I don’t know of any other way to upload them…also, a few other plugins I’ve uploaded via FTP work fine. I asked for further explanation but I never received any.

I also tried uploading everything again and it made no difference. My themes uploaded via ftp work great. This is so exasperating. Does anyone know of a different way to upload plugins to WP?

    Kathie,

i’m beginning to think that FTP is part of my problem as well … i’m still have problems with one of my other blogs…!!

in the mean time, try OneClick Installer – it allows uploading of a plugins/themes via Admin panel without the need of manually uploading via FTP. All you have to do is browse for the zip file and click “upload” and the plugin does the rest. pretty cool.

    hope this helps.
