    Hi,

    I used Zencache a while ago but in February I deactivated and uninstalled it. The uninstall seemed to go okay but I’ve noticed today that according to WordFence Diagnostics I still have a cron job _cron_zencache_cleanup running.

    I’m guessing that ZenCache set up a scheduled event but it was unsuccessful deactivating it when the plugin was deactivated.

    Is there anyway I can safely remove it retrospectively?

    I’ve looked at this page but it doesn’t seem to have a solution about scheduled tasks: https://cometcache.com/kb-article/how-do-i-uninstall-comet-cache/#toc-42c89614

    I doubt it is doing a lot of harm as I imagine it tries to run some code that no longer exists but it would nice to clean it up. I’m not really sure how to manage the cron queue and Googling makes it appear a little hard.

    Thanks
    Hugh

    @hughforsyth Hey Hugh,

    You can easily (and safely) remove that cron event by installing a plugin like WP Crontrol. Once installed and activated, visit Tools → Cron Events and simply delete the old ZenCache cron event.

    That event should have been removed when you deactivated and deleted ZenCache, but if it’s still there then you can simply remove it as described above and no harm will be done. ??

    Thanks Raam, WP Crontol has worked okay.
