_dmarc.domainname.com registers as _dmarc on IONOS
-
Following on from your email today about Google and Yahoo new sending requirements I checked to make sure mine were setup correctly for one of my domains abbottsann.com. I clicked the “Authenticate Domain” link and the first three showed as “Verified” but the second TXT entry of _dmarc.abbottsann.com showed as Pending.
My domains are with IONOS and when I logged into my account and looked at DNS, the TXT entry was listed, BUT only showed host as _dmarc without the .abbottsann.com after it.
I first tried to add TXT _dmarc.abbottsann.com to the DNS but would not let me do it because it said it already existed. So I deleted the TXT entry _dmarc
I then added TXT entry _dmarc.abbottsann.com which was a copy from the mailpoet display which was accepted, but still showed up as _dmarc without the following .abbottsann.com.
So, it seems to me that either IONOS have a problem by not correctly allowing the full -dmarc.abbottsann.com entry to be added OR Mailpoet authentication routine is wrong by expecting the domain name to be after the -dmarc in the TXT field..
So, what is the solution?
