Post ID appears as slug instead of postname

  • I have an intermittent problem whereby published posts are being given a numeric slug (post ID) instead of postname. Postname format is set in permalink settings and I have tried resetting permalinks to solve the issue but it is still occuring.

    The problem URIs look like: https://www.domain.com/34574

    Would be grateful of any help!

  • Try this: Disable all the plugins and then set the permalink setting.

    Tried that and it still occurs… I have however created a custom permalink of /%postname%/%post_id/ which appears to be working so far… I’ll give it some time before closing the post to ensure that it’s properly resolved. Thanks for your help Nisha!
