A blog from the past

In 1934 my mother, who was then 21 years old. sailed to the Unites States from Germany. During the next year she wrote over 200 pages of letters to her family in Europe describing her adventures. She also kept a detailed photo album of the period.

The blog is called Trudel’s Truth

Now the letters have been translated and I am creating a blog with posts corresponding to the dates on which the original letters were sent, supplemented with photos from her albums.

She was a spunky, brave young woman. Through this process I am getting to know and appreciate her in a way I never have before. Her letters are a breath of fresh air, full of strong opinions and great hope.
