A blog post has disappeared and I've been locked out of admin

  • This morning when I checked my blog the latest post has disappeared. When I tried to log in it didn’t recognise my user name or email. I now can’t log in to the admin. Does anybody know why this might’ve happened and what I can do about it?

  • not sure why it would happen if you didn’t do/change anything
    you can try a password reset

    if you have installed a plugin or theme, you might want to ftp to site or use host’s file manager to rename plugins folder, thus deactivating all plugins
    if a plugin is borked this will let you log in

    if this doesn’t help, rename your theme folder, thus activating default theme
    if a theme error this will let you log in
