• Hi all

I am considering setting up a web site using wordpress and want to be sure it will do what I need.

I want the front page to describe a book, have testimonials etc

I then want links to the individual chapters of the book (8000 words)

I would also like to add somewhere a button or method where people can make a donation/payment

I am reasonably IT savvy but this would all be new to me.

I would appreciate any tips or advice.

    Best wishes
    Mark

  • WordPress could certainly do this with no problem, but if the book is already written a static html site would work just as well.

    Hi Chrisber

I think that you are right about the static html site

I have one third of the book written but it also can stand alone as a piece. I was hoping for the front page to hold an intro paragraph and the sidebar will hold a chapter listing. I cannot see how to have a static element, the inro, on the frontpage with wordpress.

I guess it is time to dust down Dreamweaver

You can make the WordPress front page into a static Page by creating a new Page in WordPress, and then assigning that to the front page using the Settings menus.
