A classic example of not understanding your own product
-
For the longest time, I’ve been a fan of WordPress because it boasted the cleanest, user-friendly writing experience.
Gutenberg is 100% the opposite of this.
What the creators of this plugin fail to understand is that 99% of WordPress user are content creators. Whether blogging, podcasting, or producing videos; content creation is the focus of how most of us use the platform.
Why then would you turn the core of the content creation platform into a bloated, needless static page builder? Why copy the meaningless features that make other platforms worse than WordPress?
I’ll never understand the decision making process behind this, but I’m glad that the classic editor is available. I just wish it was the default option and I didn’t have to install it on the 100s of WordPress websites I work with.
