a couple of points…

  • i have a fresh install of wordpress 4.4.1, and need a multilingual site. So starting at wordpress – plugins – qtranslate x – installation, i follow the instructions.
    BUT “7. For the new installers, it may be useful to read Startup Guide.”
    AND this “startup guide” says “A list of initial steps to install a plugin is available at WordPress site and it will not be repeated here.”
    = circular links in help files are really annoying. ONE set of installation instructions please!

    Having now read TWO websites, i continue…
    Install – Activate – ERROR: “Could not write to “/home/…/wp-content/languages”, Gettext Databases could not be downloaded!”

    Now i search Support, FAQ, WordPress, Google… and the only discussion/solution that works is to chmod wp-content/languages from 755 to 777. Isnt this a serious security breach ?

    Other than these points, i’m really happy so far. Thank you.

    PS. i wrote this on the qTranslate/support form, yet it shows up in www.ads-software.com/support. WTF?!
