• Hi so I actually had a couple questions and I don’t know if this goes to this topic or the feedback area. I actually had a questions about plugins that I should use for my blog or if they annoy people, or you don’t see them being needed for my blog.

Background: I own a beauty blog where I do beauty reviews, tutorials and the likes.

    Plugins using/want to use:
    1. Buddypress; basically Buddypress is a plugin where users can sign up to your site and create profiles, add friends who also signed up and message people privately. I installed this yesterday and so far no one has signed up. I wasn’t expecting much, but I’m wondering if I should remove it all together. My intent was to create a community on my website, but I’m not sure if I should use Buddypress for that purpose.
    2. Mail Munch; basically it’s like those popups that ask you to sign up for their website. “Join our newsletters” or “Learn how to Blog 101” by typing in your email, etc. Because we don’t have an easy follow button for .org users I wanted to try and use this, but I find that annoying. Do you think this would be good to try or stay away from?

I hope I will get some constructive feedback to help me setup my site to be more beneficial to me and my audience.

  • I can give you some feedback about MailMunch ??

    1) We dont only offer popups but other types of forms too like scroll boxes, top bars, embedded forms and sidebar forms. You can choose the one you think works best for you.

    2) Our popups are very customizable and not annoying at all. You can open them after a user has spent some time on your site already or you can configure it to only open when a user is about to leave.

Give it a try and I’m sure you’ll love the results.

Thank you MailMunch, I have just tried it and it works like a charm! We’ll see how results end up soon (:. And I didn’t know that you don’t have to had other options besides the popups. Thanks for the help ?

Still looking for feedback on if Buddypress is a good system for a beauty blog, all thoughts/criticism are appreciated.
