A decent tool with some flaws

  • Rank Math for the time that I have been using it has been a positive experience. Having redirect and sitemap functionality removes the need for additional plugins. On page optimisation also works well ad being able to preview the google snippet is incredibly useful. I have not found a use for their AI tools because of the credit system. I have better things to spend money on on-top of a pro-license.

    My two main issues are:

    1. Constantly disconnecting from my Rank Math account. I will log in to a website and find the the plugin has disconnected from my Rank Math for no reason at all. I have lost count of the number of times I have had to reconnect accounts. And this isnt a short term issue, its an issue that has plagued the plugin for many years that has never been fixed. You will also be disconnected if you deactivate the plugins (yup, for the pro level you need two plugins….no idea why), so if you ever engage in conflict testing you will have to reactivate.
    2. This is a more recent issue, for some reason when wordfence and rank math are active together the Elementor page builder fails to load.

    1. Assuming that you have already followed this guide and the issue persists, this is something that needs debugging. To do so, the next time the message appears to reconnect the plugin, don’t activate it and check the database for the following entry in the options table: rank_math_connect_data

    If you don’t see that option there, that would indicate why the connection is lost. Something is deleting that option from the database and causing the activation to break.

    In such cases, we are sure it’s not something from our plugin but rather something else on the website because we would never delete an option required to keep the activation running.

    In case the option is present on the website, that means that the encryption of data is not working correctly and to fix that you would need to follow the steps here: https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-automatic-update-unavailable-for-this-plugin/#disable-sensitive-data-encryption

    2. Please share your website’s recent error logs so we can determine what’s causing the issue.
