    Hello,
My MailChimp has suddenly stopped working (brought to my attention by users trying to subscribe to my newsletter). In the General Settings of Mailchip in my wordpress dashboard the status says NOT CONNECTED with the error listed as:
A deep, internal error has occurred during the processing of your request. Please contact support.

Also, after seeing this error, I tried updating to the latest Mailchimp thinking that might fix the deep, internal error and it failed.

    My website is https://www.thegrain-freekitchen.com

    Please help!
    Lynette

  • I had the same problem over the last few days. Had the same message too.

We have seen this error a few times now and usually it solves itself in a day or two.

It seems to be a response returned by the MailChimp API server.
We are in communication with MailChimp support about this as the error message itself doesn’t explain much about the cause.

Please follow the thread here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/nternal-server-error-a-deep-internal-error-has-occured-during-the-processing-o/

I will mark this case as solved as we keep track via the URL above.

    Thank you!

So, I created a ticket for this same issue and received the same reply with a link to this page. This issue has not resolved itself and it’s been about 3 weeks.

Any other help you can offer?

Hey, would any of you be willing to share your MailChimp account username with us so that the MailChimp team can look into this in detail on their end? We’re currently working with them, trying to figure out what exactly is triggering this.

A username and rough timestamp on when you saw the error occur (like the time when you were viewing the plugin’s settings page) would be super helpful. You can either post it here or email it to [email protected] (please do mention this thread so that we know what it’s about).

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Danny,

I just sent an email to [email protected] with my MailChimp username and a rough timestamp of when I first saw this issue on my settings page. I hope it helps. If you need anything else, please let me know!!

    Thanks,
    Lynette

Update: We have send a detailed report to MailChimp and are waiting for them to look into this problem.

We found that for some Accounts/API keys MailChimp returns this error when you make a call to the root of the API. This doesn’t seem to be related to our plugin as we even get this error when calling the API from a browser.

Please contact MailChimp support when you get this error.
    https://mailchimp.com/contact/support/

They can replicate the error by making a call to the API root with your API key and server.

    https://us1.api.mailchimp.com/3.0/?apikey=test
Replace us1 with the characters in the end or your API key, after the minus sign.
Replace test with everything in front of the minus sign of your API key.

We have already implemented a wordkaround, by not letting any important business process depend on the API root, you can download the latest code from Github: https://github.com/ibericode/mailchimp-for-wordpress

This update will be available on via www.ads-software.com plugin repository within a few days.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Has this work around been incorporated in the new 4.1.5 version of Mailchimp for WordPress? I have upload the new version but am still getting the same error.

    Thanks,

    Lynette

same here! my API is working perfectly with other similar plugins, mailchimp support for non paid users sucks or actually doesnt exist!
    anybody solved this issue yet?
