• I am using this theme on a website for a research project on theatre in virtual worlds called “Ethereal Materials” (link is in my bio if you want to see how I’m using the theme in action). There are several things that make this theme a very useful addition to the WordPress repository.

    1. It works straight away. No plugins necessary. This makes it lightweight and (potentially) less vulnerable to malware and undesirable scripts etc.
    2. It is a block theme that comes with a surprising number of well executed patterns. Multiple post layouts, multiple banner formats and call to action patterns. In that sense, it is a diamond in the rough. I wish the theme author would make that functionality a bit more explicit on the theme’s intro page here on www.ads-software.com.
    3. While some may not like the default font choice (and that can be changed very easily in the WP editor), I like it for its playfulness. It stands out. I have several long form articles on my website, and I don’t have any issues with legibility. That may not be the case for people with visual impairments though, so that’s something to keep in mind.
    4. The post elements all work very well and I have had no issues using the theme on different form factors (large PC monitor, tablets and smartphones).

So all in all, I think this is a very underrated theme. If you’re looking for a lightweight, simple but eye-catching template for a blog or personal website, give it a try.

Many thanks to “Peter Kiss,” the theme’s author, for making this publicly available.
