• I have a request for a feature that I’ve never encountered.

The Home page is essentially a landing page with navigation and a slideshow. What the client is asking is if it’s possible to show a different slideshow when the user returns to the Home Page, either after navigation to other pages, or returning at a later time.

I know just enough PHP to do simple things to a (child) theme’s functionality, but this I think is beyond my limited knowledge.

Is there a plugin, perhaps, that can do this? Or maybe a snippet of code that does something similar that I can alter, and insert into my child-theme’s home template?

Or are we getting super-complicated with cookies, caching, etc.?

The client has requested that the site be behind a maintenance wall while we’re developing, so giving you the URL would be pointless. Sorry ??

Thanks in advance, for any direction anybody can give me.

PS: I thought about creating another “Home” page that would contain the other slideshow. So I would have two versions of a static home page.

    Too complicated? Even possible?
