Hey folks. We encountered a few bugs that I wanted to inform you about.

    1. Selecting “Disable author redirect to UsersWP profile page” makes the users directory list member profile url’s as “/author/member-name” instead of “/profile/member-name”.
    2. On Posts, instead of listing the author URL as “/author/author-name”, it lists “/profile/author-name”.
    3. When clicking on a commenter’s name in a post, their profile URL is “domain/profile”. Their username is left off.
    4. Plugin does not hide the dashboard, but that is a specific feature listed on your site here: https://userswp.io/features-list/
    5. In the WP dashboard, looking under Comments. I notice the Avatars are always defaulted and never display the actual Avatar.

Lastly, how can we reorder the member directory by newest signups?

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi,

Please find my below comments for your queries:
    1. We are looking into it and update you on the same soon.
    2. On posts it works fine for me as it shows “/author/author-name” for me.
    3. On comments also it shows me “/author/author-name”.
    4. You mean hide the admin bar or the /wp-admin/?
    5. We don’t change the avatars on the backend to make it compatible with the other plugins as if we change it then it will override for the other plugins.
    6. We will add setting for this in the next release of the plugin. For now it is not possible without modifying code.

    Regards,
    Patrik

Patrik, thanks for the quick response.

    1. Thanks so much.
    2. That is interesting, I wonder if this is tied to issue #1 in some cases… So the author of your posts shows /author/author-name and the commenters on your article have a profile URL of /profile/member-name?
    3. Someone commenting on an article should have a profile URL of /profile/member-name, not /author/author-name. Our members profile URL in the comments only appears as /profile. So you cannot click to their profile.
    4. Yes, hide the admin bar. We are using a front-end membership plugin so members cannot access or see the wp-dashboard.
    5. (Item 5, you labeled as 6.) Perfect!

    Have a great Sunday!

    Patrik, potentially another bug…

We currently have new registrations set to “Require Email Activation”. I created a new account and do receive the confirmation email.

However, when I click the link in the email, it takes you to the login page and says, “Something went wrong” inside a red banner.

I did try to resend link again, but the same issue happened…

    Hi,

Can you let us know if you are using any security plugin or caching plugin? If yes then let me know which plugin because this can happen due to security or caching plugin.

    Morning Patrik.

Yes, we use Autoptimize, Cache Enabler, WP-Redis, and Wordfence.

    Hi,

Can you deactivate them one by one and check which plugin causing an issue? I think it’s by Wordfence plugin but if you have enabled object cache then try deactivating it and let us know.

    Regards,
    Patrik

If I identify which one, will it be something we can fix or just be known that it is an issue with caching?

We have received such a request with the object caching so you will need to deactivate object caching and we will look into it later on medium priority.

No problem. I had purchased your moderation plugin, so we are just manually approving users. Have a great Sunday!

    Patrik,

Would you like a separate ticket for the bugs?

I was trying to update the Email template for: “Admin review approved email”. Every time I make a change to that template I get a white screen that says, “Forbidden You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/admin.php on this server.”

No caching or security plugins were turned on when this happened.

    Hi,

I would suggest you open a ticket on our site https://userswp.io/support so that we can help you out with the site-specific issues.

    Regards,
    Patrik
