• Hi,
    Site: https://go.os42.com
I have been playing with a new layout and have reached a point where I am not sure how to fix a couple of little issues. I am always keen to work things out on my own but when all else fails yell HELPPPPPP.
I have dropped a picture using the #rap div onto my main background and it is showing some kind of white border for some reason, even though there is no border there. It could be the background behind it but not sure why if so.
I also have a problem with the footer area moving up and sliding over the same pic. If anyone has any ideas as to why this may be happening – please let me know. Any advice is much appreciated
    Thank you ??

  • A transparent bg in the footer might do it.

Sounds like a good idea Root. But as the new 1.3 issplit into sections – do I need to place something in wp-footer.php as well as in the css?
I did try putting a #foot div in earlier but with no success. That may be because I had no idea what I was doing though.

Yes shadow thank you for pointing out that the 1.3 divs are split between various sub files. In particular in some instances the div opener and the div closer are in different files. The important thing though is that Kubrick runs fine which apparently it does. We are stuck.

Shadow here is a quick and dirty interim hack. With one minor amendment to the php comments call the 1.2 edition index/ css will work fine. Unless you are thinking of theming go with that. Then you will be back on familiar territory ?

You totally left me behind there Root. Say what?
Be gentle. I’m new to England remember… ??

Btw, don’t copy the stylesheet from my test directory, I messed around with it, so there might be some changes left in there that aren’t supposed to be in there.

Muffinboy: I added the negative margin to the rap but it hasn’t made any difference. Thanks for trying though. Much appreciated ??
It looks ok on the main page with 5 posts but when you go to the Areas or Search pages etc with less content, the same problem exists.
I had originally placed a 1024 x 768 image which included the left pic and background all as a fixed image. This alleviated this problem but the file was over 200k so I wanted to get the load size down a bit.
Isn’t it always the way – you get rid of one problem just to find you have another.
Thanks all – for your help again…

Ah, yes, my fix only works when you have content that is ‘long’ enough so you have to scroll, in which case the bottom of the #rap div is near the bottom of the viewport.
    This is really weird…
