    Kreg ,

    Additional fields (Optional )

I would love to have additional fields like Country and option to categorize the petitions . Of-course we can use the short-code and paste it under a specific category while creating the Petition . But It would be better having an in-built option to categorize while creation or changing it after creation

Option to customize the appearance :

I can change the Petition size like width and height in the code . But I love the have options to set the petition size , and it’s appearance right from the settings page. So we can change the appearance of individual petitions right from dashboard .

    Signatures in display:

I need an option to display the signature to public view, so they can check who support the petition

Can you please consider adding them in near future?

    Thanks !

    Asshu,

    Additional fields:
Not sure if you’re wanting an extra field for country in the public petition form or something else. I made the form field a textarea so I wouldn’t have to mess around with the different international address formats (zip vs post code, should it include a state/prov or not, etc.) and also to simplify the form. It’s important to me that the public form be simple to fill out and not have a large number of separate fields.

The category of the petition is entirely determined by how you categorize the page or post you display it in.

    Option to customize the appearance:
You can customize the appearance by setting the petition theme to “No theme” on the settings page and then using your own CSS to style it the way you want. An easy way to do this is to copy the styles out of the plugin’s /css/theme-standard.css into your theme’s style.css file, then altering things as you wish. I don’t plan to implement an appearance editor on the settings page.

    Signatures in display:
I may add this one, but it’s a low priority for me at the moment.

Thanks for your quick response Kreg . Very a few plugin authors reply with such a detailed explanation . I appreciate your help

Yes ! You are right . We can use Text area for that

I don’t plan to implement an appearance editor on the settings page.

Not a problem . I can customize the CSS . But it is convenient to us at-least if options for width and height adjustment were available on Settings page. All we need is just Width and height customization as major options ??

I hope you would improve the plugin and make it more advanced .Good Luck !

    Thank you!

I’m not much of a programmer, but signature display was something that we needed, so I wrote an extra plugin for our site so we could do that. If you did want to add it to your plugin, though, that would be a much neater solution. If it would help, I could send you my code.

    Cheers,

    Hi Ed.

Signature display seems to be a popular feature request. I’m glad you found a way to make it work for your site. I’d be interested in taking a look at your petition page to get an idea for how people want this signature display to look. It may be something I’ll work into a future release.

It would be nice to be able to hook into or filter the output to add/change text. For example, I want to use h2 tags for the title instead of h3, and I would like to add a note like “Please include your Country,” above the address field. Maybe if the html was separate separate from public.php, the plugin could check the theme directory before loading a default template.

Still, I’m building a site for an environmental org, and an email petition was absolutely required, so this is saving me a ton of trouble as it is. So thanks!
