A few problems with my wordpress.

    I cant seem to update my wordpress to 2.8 it keeps saying:
    ncompatible archive: PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    Installation Failed

    Also My nextgen gallery wont let me add photos, its saying:

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 46923776) (tried to allocate 14592 bytes) in /home/tunermag/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/gd.thumbnail.inc.php on line 183

    Any help would be awesome.

  • Well you may have a quota problem if we proceed much further. You really may want to see about deleting any extraneous stuff in hosting account or talk to your host about increasing that quota.

    Neverless, download the 2.8 zip file from the Download tab at the top of this page.

    Extract the files in that zip to your local machine,

    Then upload all those files to appropriate place (public_html) on your host via FTP.

    BTW, we are essentially doing Steps 7 and 8 of Upgrading WordPress Extended right now.

    do I over write the plugin’s folder or what?

    Yes overwrite plugins, themes, and the few (20 or so) files in your blog root (such as wp-login-php)

    Doesn’t look like you got a complete and good upload of all those files.

    Review Steps 7 and 8 of Upgrading WordPress Extended and try again.

    Are you sure you aren’t running out of space and thereby not getting all the files uploaded.

    You need to be uploading files in ASCII file transfer mode.
