I am not sure that I understand the issue.

If the user was previously an existing subscriber, and they filled out a form – they would then need to send them self an update email. If they don’t fill the email sent to them out, none of their information will be updated. Thus why it says the form was submitted, but the subscriber info was not updated.

    Thanks,
    Evan

The subscriber filled more fields than the first time and those fields remained empty on the mailchimp side (but were visible on leadin report).

I’m not sure I understand this part :

they would then need to send them self an update email

We implemented email authentication for updating profiles.

This means, if a user is already subscribed to a list and they submit a new form, they will get a message saying they need to email themselves a link to update their profile.

We added this, because it is a security issue to allow folks to update profiles without permission. All a person would need is another user’s email address to update all their profile info.

    Thank you!

Is it new ? I wasn’t aware of this (and not sure my subscribers understood what to do).

it is a security issue to allow folks to update profiles without permission.

They are not users but subscriber, so it’s more a CRM than safety issue… It may be good to make it optional.

Most marketing automation tools won’t work like this (for exemple hubspot) and I used Yikes like a (very) lightweight hubspot…

We implemented this on February 17th.

We are concerned with having our plugin be a way for people to update other people’s profiles with no security check in place.

We will look into the implications of making this optional.

    Thank you!

So this is why all my subscription on 3 clients sites have been incomplete since more than 1 month ?? just realized it, I should read version notes carefully next time !

Looking forward to seeing the evolutions about this. You may look at Leadin exemple, I think many people want to use subscriptions plugins in this way.

    Hi Plarcher.

We added a KB article with instructions on how to turn email validation off.

    I hope this helps!
