BTCPay might be one of the most important on going project in Bitcoin right now, since it is the first payment processor that is reliable, user-friendly and coherent with the way Bitcoin is meant to be used, i.e. not as Paypal or a credit card.
As a seller, you can easily set up your own server including a Bitcoin and Lightning Network full node, meaning that you don’t depend on anyone to receive and verify Bitcoin Payment, and that you’re far less vulnerable to third-party risks, including your payment processor shutting you up because he doesn’t like your business (hat-tip to Paypal) or because he is under pressure from a government (remember Wikileaks?).
Cherry on the cake, except for a few bucks a month to buy a host it is absolutely free, and there’s a strong community that is building around it right now.
Developed by the community, the wordpress plugin for Woocommerce is very easy to setup and reliable, I’m not a merchant selling stuff everyday, but as a blogger I can receive tips and I never experienced any issue so far.
