    For creating simple galleries that work across platforms, this is great. Solved a big problem for me of trying to find a gallery plugin that worked and wasn’t just a lame bait and switch for the paid version. Yes, it doesn’t look as pretty as some (and you can’t have it open on top of your page in a separate window) but for what I need, this works well. The myriad of options is totally unexpected for a free plugin. Will happily donate.

    My only complaints are these:
    1. When in responsive mode, the pictures downsize but the thumbnail bar does not, creating freakishly large thumbnails relative to the images themselves when viewed on a small mobile device;
    2. When using the description bar, it overlays the bottom of the images, which is annoying. Changing the description bar to transparent only partially solves the problem because the text still overlays the image.

    Other than that, a great find.

    Hi @bad_egg,

    thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! ??

    We would like to add improvements for both of your complaints. For the thumbnail issue I have an idea, but it is not public yet. It would be great if you could try it out first before we make it public. You can reach me at [email protected] and I will send you the details and a new installer with the update.

    Have you tried to modify the position of the bar to prevent the overlapping? You can change its position here: https://i.imgur.com/pMET9Vo.png (Maybe your issue is not related with this one, but it worth a try. It would be great if you could send a screenshot of the current state of your slider to my previously mentioned email address.)

    Best regards,
    Roland

    Hi Nextendweb,

    I will send you everything as requested. I did try modifying the position of the bar, and now I think I found a bug…

    This is what happened: I created square galleries (600px x 600px) to accommodate both vertical and horizontal images, and set the image option to “Fit.” Left the bar at bottom (default), with no offset. On vertical images, the caption bar sits aside the picture instead of below it. I tried changing the offset value, but this only moved the text up and even more on top of the image.

    After I read your post, I began playing around, moving the bar to the top, etc. I didn’t like the results, so I moved the bar back to the default. And then a weird thing happened: the caption bar moved to just below the image as I wanted (no overlay) and as it should.

    So a bug is setting the image too low in the default, yet this corrects itself if one moves the bar to top and back again.

    I will send you the links by email (the site is not live yet; I’m in the process of building it) and leave the galleries as is to give you a chance to see the difference.
