A little confused on transfering my domain

    Hello,

    Thanks in advance for the help.
    I started blogging about a year ago and opened an account on Blogspot. About 4 months ago I purchased a personal domain name in order to give it a more professional feel for the increasing traffic. To make a long story short, I am tired of the lack of easy customization + helpful widgets and would like to switch to something more powerful like WordPress. I have two questions. Is it easy/possible to transfer the control of my site from the Blogger control panel to WordPress even though I own the domain and am no longer officially part of Blogger? Secondly, will this in any way negatively affect the traffic to my site?
