• I have been searching high and low for a plugin that will allow me to have a database of educators that students can sift through in order to find their perfect match. There were some that came close, but they weren’t clean. They weren’t intuitive. And, they really didn’t produce the results I wanted.

I stumbled upon Participate Database purely by accident and gave it a whirl. After all, it said it could do everything I wanted — and it looked good. The problem I had at first was that I couldn’t find the short code databases, so I didn’t know how to actually do it. A quick message to the developer, though, and all was straightened out and I was well on my way.

I too have just stumbled on this plugin and need something very much like what you did.
Is your database on a website that I could see how it works from the visitors point of view.

    Tfarrell,

This is what it looks like from the front end for the user.

We’re still not open for business yet, so it’s a little rough looking, but you should get the point what it looks like to them. Go ahead and search since that’s functional to.

On the back end it looks like an Excel spreadsheet from hell mixed with a bunch of entry field databases. It’s a little overwhelming, but nothing a tech savvy person can’t get under in a few minutes. If I knew how to upload an image, I’d show you what I mean.)

Once you figure it out (about 30 minutes for me, with a little extra figuring out the shortcode), it was smooth and awesome from then on out. I’ve not had any problems with it. In fact, once I get the rest of the educator’s information and images, it’ll be gorgeous.
