"a name" is smoother than "a id"

This plugin is great!

However, if I follow the recommendation of changing “a name=” to “a id=”, the animations are not smooth anymore. It begins scrolling fine, but before the end it gets way too stuttery. It works fine with “a name=”.

What could be the cause of this problem?
