We have had an alert this morning for a login that was successful. But I cannot find the username in the woo commerce orders or customer side wp-admin.

There are 135 rows in the users database, same with on wp-admin, this username I still cannot find? Any ideas?

Hi @klloyd86, thanks for getting in touch.

It is possible for the alert to come from a development/staging site rather than your live site if you have one. If you do have one, check the usernames registered there. Failing that, referencing logins via the?Live Traffic?page that match the same timestamp as the time shown in the alert alert may help to see if a user really did log in at that time.

Over half of all login attempts that are made on WordPress sites are made via?xmlrpc.php. Our Wordfence Login Security and Wordfence plugins offer the option to block XML-RPC authentication or at least require 2FA with authentication requests using XML-RPC on the?Login Security > Settings?page. That could be a consideration here, but let us know how you get on with matching the login to a Live Traffic event too.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.
