  • Thanks for your message. I think the only likely explanation is that the post editor has done something to corrupt your shortcode.

    It is possible that your quote marks (“) have been converted into something different. Please try overwriting them again with new ” marks directly, and save immediately without switching to Visual view.

    Tried your advice and it didn’t work. BTW, here’s a more accurate copy of the short code.

    No the backslashes shouldn’t be there… It sounds to me that there is another plugin upsetting the visual editor.

    Try disabling all other plugins (and ideally switching back to the default theme) and then try embedding the PDF again – i.e. to generate the shortcode from scratch.

    If that works, you can start to determine which plugin might be causing the problem by reactivating them one-by-one.
