• I have a simple newsletter signup form on my site. It’s only one field (email address) and a submit button. I also have the MailChimp extension set up and connected.

When I enter an email address in the field and hit submit, nothing happens. A small loading wheel appears for a second and that’s it. Everything stays the same. The subscription does not go through.

Any idea what could be wrong?

If you are not getting a confirmation message in a green border, your CF7 email is not being sent.

This could be due to an error in your MailChimp extension set up.

Alternately you may have a conflict with your WP theme or one of the other plugins you are using which preventing CF7’s JavaScript from completing.

Switch temporarily (nothing will be lost when you switch back) to a WP default theme & disable all plugins other than Contact Form 7 to see if the problem goes away.

If it does you can switch back to your theme & re-activate each plugin one by one to see when the problem occurs.

Thank you. For the mailchimp extension, I turned on the debug log, but no errors are logged after I try to use the form. All settings seem to be fine.

I switched the themes and turned off all plugins except CF7 and mailchimp extension. The loading wheel just spins and spins, and nothing happens.

I also tried doing this on a completely different WordPress site. The results are the same.

Does the loading wheel just spin if you disable the mailchimp extension?
