• I have been developing and working on a wordpress blog site for a client for a while.
This site was originally initiated by myself to add to the client’s web presence.
Her main website had been managed by another person, who has since moved on.
Her main site and domain name we will call XYZ.com is hosted by and registered with hostingservice_001 ( for reference only ).
Her blog site domain name is XYZblog.com and is registered with godaddy ( my service for all domain registrations ).
Her blog site is hosted by hostingservice_002 ( for reference only ). XYZblog.com is currently in a subdirectory of
my own website ( mysite.com ) hosting service root directory and the domain XYZblog.com is being directed to the subdirectory via
    .htaccess mod_rewrite
Obviously, I have a MySQL database on my site webhosting service for XYZblog.com.

The client has decided that she now wants me to make her main site, XYZ.com, the blog site that I’ve been
working on for some time, XYZblog.com.

I know how to transfer registrars, from hostingservice_001 to godaddy ( not necessary but I like
to keep everything in one place ).

I also have an open hosting service from my vendor, hostingservice_002, because of a project
    that fell through.
My question is, what would be the most practical method of, transferring the current domain XYZblog.com and
database from my site server space to my open site server space and then, seamlessly ( when XYZblog.com is designed
and ready to become XYZ.com ) switching the domains, so that XYZ.com is now pointing at the new site.

here is a link to a diagram that may help to clarify:

    Thanks.

Are all of these WordPress sites? If so, then do an export of xyzblog.com and an import on xyz.com. Delete any unwanted content that came over. Call it a day!

    Hi @sterndata ,

Thanks for the input. I don’t believe that xyz.com is a wordpress site.
However, I won’t be using anything from the xyz.com database. I am utilizing xyz.com for information for the xyzblog.com site which I am developing to utilize as the client’s new site and eventually pointing xyz.com to the server space containing xyzblog.com

    The actual websites are xyz.com = jpalenhouse.com and xyzblog.com = jpalenhouseblog.com
