• Under no circumstances should this plugin be added to the WordPress Core. It is a usability nightmare versus improvement. Testing with someone brand new to WordPress proved my point. It made the creation of text confusing and difficult for them and they questioned why we recommended the use of WordPress. Typically we have new users up and running in a couple hours with WordPress and they are delighted.

While I appreciate how certain users might like this type of editor, it certainly isn’t for the majority and thus should remain a plugin.

The bigger question here is would adding this to the core cause a splintering of the WordPress community and a forking of the core software? I think a move like this will lead many to ask this very question and start looking at the potential of doing so.

Thank you firstly for doing some testing. I would love to know more about your findings in that. What exactly was an issue with the creation of text? I ask as would also maybe like to see how this could be improved within Gutenberg.

As the plugin is being worked on at a rapid pace, would you be interested in trying it again to see what you think based on the improvements?
