• Hi,

I managed to connect the Saml 2.0 Single Sign On plugin to our enterprise IdP (based on SimpleSAMLphp), but the plugin dies with “A username was not provided.”.

In the “Service Provider” tab I configured the mapping for:
Attribute to be used as username uid
Attribute to be used as First Name givenName
Attribute to be used as Last Name sn
Attribute to be used as E-mail mail

and I’m sure that our IdP sends back to all our other SPs these attributes filled with the correct values, but it seems that the plugin is not able to get them, or is not able to apply the mapping I configured.

    Any hint?

    Ciao,

    Enrico

  • appreciate the help!

Hey Nithin, could you provide any guidance as to how you were able to get this working? We seem to be running into similar issues using the plugin with a PING server. We’re able to connect to the remote IdP and enter credentials. Login is successful but we land on the simplesamlphp unhandled exception page:
Caused by: SimpleSAML_Error_Exception: Cannot retrieve metadata for IdP 'dev-homefield' because it isn't a valid IdP for this SP.
I checked the POST being sent back to wordpress (to saml2-acs.php) and all the metadata is there, including the username.
