A way to escape Scripturizer?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to escape (make it so it doesn’t work in a particular instance) the Scripturizer plugin?

For instance, in this post, I start out with ‘The 18th century guys are gathered around the campfire…’, but Scripturizer attempts to link The 18 to a scripture reference. I appreciate and need the functionality of Scripturizer fairly often, but I’d like to be able to “turn it off” if the context calls for such.
