• Hi there!
Today I have discovered that it looks like footnotes “remember” the note added order…. and do not number them as they appears in the articles?

So, for example, I have this ODD thing:

    Belinda Mandelbaum1, Stephen Frosh8, Aline Rubin2, Artur Rafael Theodoro3

What is that 8 there?? it should be 2… then Aline Rubin3, Artur Rafaeul Thodoro4… and so on…
Maybe I have added that 8 footnote later, do not remember… but… it is not the idea to have this working like that!? lol

    Any idea? /-:

OMG…. I have added another one from scratch, and it shows like this!?

    Belinda Mandelbaum1, Stephen Frosh4, Aline Rubin2, Artur Rafael Theodoro3

    1 4 2 3?

    WTF?

    Hi,

I do not have the same behavior here:

    https://ibb.co/BzDS8f7
    leads to
    https://ibb.co/bWGRx2J

The numbers IN the footnotes is the order I made the notes. The numbers OF the footnotes seems correct.

Can you give us a little more detail? Especially PHP & WordPress version numbers and a list if activated other plugins (Do you have a cache plugin?)

    Best regards

Mmmmmm, but that is what I do not want…

The numbers IN footnotes should be correlatives (at least we uses that way here)… not mixed (in a way I do not know how is done)

    I mean like “Belinda Mandelbaum1, Stephen Frosh2, Aline Rubin3, Artur Rafael Theodoro4”
not “Belinda Mandelbaum1, Stephen Frosh4, Aline Rubin2, Artur Rafael Theodoro3” (this happens on your screenshot too https://ibb.co/BzDS8f7 )

That website uses php 7 and WP 5.3.2

    Maybe we misunderstood.

Here it is again but with text on footnotes contents:
    https://ibb.co/qmBqHkN

    and the result:
    https://ibb.co/2v8Hchp

The order of notes follow the order of the text flow, not the order I typed them.

If you do the same, you have a different result, right ?

Oh I see, but yes… here for example: https://calibanrlp.com/antropofagia-y-autoritarismo-en-el-psicoanalisis-brasilero/

As you can see, it shows: Belinda Mandelbaum1, Stephen Frosh8, Aline Rubin2, Artur Rafael Theodoro3

PD: I did not the same than you, just wrote the article in order… will test now

Okkkk I have tried some things… here I pasted the content: https://calibanrlp.com/testing/ it is mixed…
Here I have added the notes one by one in order https://calibanrlp.com/testing-2/ it seems ok
And here I have added the notes one by one using other order https://calibanrlp.com/testing-3/ it seems ok…

It is like the “issue” happens when pasting contents? (content that has notes)

If it is pasted from MS-Word, that could be the problem, because it cut/paste more than you can see.

You can check before paste in HTML mode:
    https://ibb.co/s39Z2Sx
then back to normal mode, paste and HTML mode again to see what was pasted?
