A WordPress news plugin opens sites in a new window

    In the early stage of setting up a site and testing what plugins are great, and so forth. However, I did not choose the template and not sure if this is a plugin or template issue.

    On there is a Latest News section on the top right. When the links are clicked in the window, the web page opens in a new window. I’ve tried to find out why this happens. If I go to Customize, I can see the latest news short code.

    But have no idea how to find where I can edit to stop the Latest News links opening in a new window.

    Any help appreciated lots.

    Your website is in a maintenance status. Unfortunately, it is therefore not possible to see what you are talking about. Could you remove it?

    Ah, sorry. I’d forgotten about that. Okay, that will need approval so I’ll be back asap.

    What could be causing the links to open in a new window though? Strikes me as a basic error somewhere that a WordPress expert may be familiar with, and I am not one.

    If links open in a new window when clicked, a property is specified in the HTML code on the link. This property in the HTML code is probably generated by a component you use for linking in WordPress. It would therefore be important to be able to see your page in order to recognize which component (plugin, editor, theme, etc.) generates this link for you.
